Schweinfurt Elementary School was accredited during
the 2004-2005 school year by the
North Central Association (NCA). Accreditation
focuses a school on improving learning for all
students. A six-year study of schools actively
engaged in the NCA process revealed that 79% made
verifiable gains in student achievement.
Consequently, NCA accreditation is a proven method
for student success.
Since our last accreditation, The North Central Association
Commission of Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) has
reorganized with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) and the
National Study of School Evaluation (NSSE). The newly unified
organization is called AdvanceED. From now on, they
will be responsible for the accreditation of all DoDDS-E schools. Their Web
site is:
http://www.advanc-ed.org/.
There is additional information about this merger on
the
SES Accreditation Page.
Every
DoDEA School is tasked to look at the strengths and
weaknesses of the students in their school. They
then choose a focus or goal. Data supporting this
choice must be documented from three separate
sources (triangulated) to insure that the goal truly
addresses student needs. An action plan is then
formulated to provide interventions and strategies
that will directly impact student learning.
In September 2006, the name School Improvement
Plan (SIP) was changed to
Continuous School Progress (CSP).
Our CSP Pages are dedicated to bringing
you the news and information about Continuous
School Progress being implemented at
SES. |
