Frogs on a Log
November 2007:  This first grade class spent several days writing a book with math problems called Frogs on a Log.  Each student got a different number of colored frogs to put on a log. Then they wrote an addition number story about the frogs. After going over this first draft with the teacher, students wrote the final copy of their sentence and illustrated it. They enjoy reading this and other books that they have written. This activity supports our CSP goal of Problem Solving in Math.
