| December 7: Breakfast with
Santa was sponsored by the SES PTA. Students and
parents enjoyed the school breakfast together. Many students had
their picture taken with Santa. |

Favorite Holiday Traditions |
|
Students in this
4th/5th grade class class made dioramas to represent their
favorite holiday traditions. Each student also wrote a one-page
paper to tell about their traditions. They were encouraged to be
creative, and to try to move beyond using paper as their main
resource. They learned that most families celebrate the same
holidays during the winter, but there are many different ways of
celebrating. The project was a big success and a great
learning experience for everyone involved.

This
third grade class made ornaments and had a class
breakfast & pajama party.

After listening to The Polar Express by
Chris van Allsberg these kindergarteners enjoyed hot chocolate and candy
canes. They observed how the candy melted to flavor the hot chocolate. |

Holiday Games in PE |
 |

The children
learned a some basic information about Kwanzaa and Hanukkah and
what the candles represent before using them for games. The
other activities were either related to
Christmas or just the winter season in general.
