Valentine's Day & 100th Day

February 14th was a busy day this year. There were many Valentine's Day activities going on, but it was also the 100th Day of School for students in grades 1-5. The first graders in the four pictures below practiced their problem solving skills with Valentine conversation hearts. They had to sort the hearts in their box by colors and then make a graph showing how many of each color they had.

Students in two first grade classes pictured here practiced counting to 100 and making a pattern by counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's. When they were finished they enjoyed eating their pattern markers (Fruit Loops, pretzels, Tootsie Rolls, marshmallows, raisins, and Skittles)
