March 24, 2008: SES
PE teachers organized "Dr. Seuss Games Day, " an extension of the
celebration of Dr. Seuss's birthday, which was celebrated at the
beginning of March. In past years, the games have been on the same day
as the birthday celebration. This year, for various reasons, that
was not possible. Each class spent an hour moving from game to game,
all named for Dr. Seuss books. (Green Eggs and Ham, A Fly Went By,
Hop on Pop, Horton Hatches an Egg, and To Think That I Saw It
on Mulberry Street) Some fourth and fifth grade PE students even
invented new games this year to go with There's a Wocket in My
Pocket, Daisy Head Maize, and The Butter Battle Book.
Parent volunteers and members of the Schweinfurt Middle School
National Junior Honor Society and
Golden Knights helped man the games. |
